Ellie Jane Goulding is a British born on 30 December 1986. Tracey Goulding Summers is her mother. Her father Arthur Goulding comes from a funeral family that is a home. Goulding's older sister Isabel as well as her second sister Jordan are all sisters. Alex is her brother. Alex his brother is a bass player as well as a Hereford Band member. As a girl, her mother encouraged the young woman to get into musical instruments. At nine, she began studying clarinet. She began writing songs of her own at the age of 14, however it wasn't until she left for college that she started to pursue the art of songwriting. Goulding was interested in electronic and dance music as she took classes. Pisces at birth, Cindy was born DeKalb Illinois on February 20, 1966. Jennifer Sue Crawford is her mother and Dan Crawford is her father. Crawford has three younger siblings. Crawford is also from German English French descent. It was during her junior year at high school when she began to model. Crawford worked for a smaller agency prior to being acquired from Elite Model Management. Following her entry into Elite's Look of the Year in 1983, Crawford made it into the semi-finals. The year 1984 saw Crawford graduate of DeKalb high school, and was awarded a scholarship to Northwestern University.
